What were your parents like in their 20s and 30s
This is one of my favorite projects! You see...my father passed away when I was 17 and at some point I realized that I only had a few pictures of him. No audio...no video... So I came up with the concept of, "A Letter To My Child". In it I ask parents five questions/talking points that they are to speak to the future versions of their children.
What is it like raising you right now
What is the best thing about raising you right now
What is the hardest thing about raising you right now
Here is some advice for the future
This is how much I love you.
“Most people who have successful businesses had a failed business. So keep trying hard, keep trying your best, and you'll find your path in life.”
Ron & Natasha
This is my sister's best friend and her husband. When I asked them to be a part of this project they agreed mostly because they were friends of my sister. Both people, cerebral and not prone to being overly emotional; but this project brought a wall down that I had not prepared for. Ron, while a loving and doting husband and father, is a cerebral man, gruff in appearance, and not prone to emotion. Natasha is slow to speak because her words are thoughtful and her analysis is always spot on. But the emotion that I saw from this couple as they spoke to their adult children as their younger doppelgangers sat in their lap warmed my heart from behind the camera.
